Attorney Jim Murphy began practicing law in Kentucky in 1993. He
graduated magna cum laude from Washington & Lee University
and cum laude from the Lewis School of Law at Washington &
Lee University.
Prior to joining Hoge Partners, PLLC, Jim's practice with another Louisville firm focused in commercial transactions, real estate and business.
Since 2013, he has refocused his practice on Family Law matters with a special emphasis on business and real estate factors. Jim joined Hoge Partners, PLLC in 2014 and works on a broad spectrum of Family Law matters including domestic violence actions and criminal defense in child support matters as well as processing divorces, child support, child custody and post-divorce litigation.

Attorney Ruth Wilkerson has been practicing law in Kentucky since 2010.
A graduate of Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky and the
Appalachian School of Law in Grundy, Virginia, Ruth has a varied
legal background which includes estate planning, workers
compensation, personal injury litigation, employment law, civil
rights discrimination and sexual harassment.
Ruth has focused on Family Law matters since joining Hoge Partners, PLLC (formerly Hoge & Associates) in 2014. She handles both high-conflict and uncontested divorce actions as well as modifications of child support and maintenance/alimony, disputed parenting matters such as visitation schedules and primary residence, adoption proceedings, child custody and domestic violence proceedings.

Bill
Hoge recently scaled back his practice after more than four decades as a trial
attorney.
Family Law has been the focus of Bill's professional life since the early 1990s. A Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and former Chair of the Family Law Sections for both the Kentucky Bar Association and the Louisville Bar Association, Bill is a trial attorney with training as a mediator, arbitrator and collaborative Family Law professional.
We thank Billy Hoge for all he has done to spearhead innovation within Family Law practice in Louisville, including the advancement of alternative dispute resolution techniques such as mediation and collaborative practice.
FREE 15-MINUTE TELEPHONE CONSULTATIONS
We offer free 15-minute initial telephone consultations to potential clients. Upon conclusion of that 15-minute initial telephone consultation, potential clients usually have the opportunity to decide to make an appointment for a $200 initial face-to-face consultation and the subsequent decision of whether or not to hire us. We must also decide whether your case is one where we can be effective.
Engaging our firm as legal counsel will require the execution of a binding agreement between attorney and client as well as the payment of an initial Engagement Fee based on the number of hours of our time we feel will be necessary to address a client's Family Law issue. This initial Engagement Fee will be a minimum of $2,000 to $3,000, depending on the attorney handling the case and the complexity of the dispute.
